Would gas blowing by the rings in the cyclinder cause the oil to look like coffee with lots of creamer in it? I know the motor is not water cooled so it’s not water and it smells kinda like gas. The one cylinder has only 30psi for compression (and the previous owner said the motor… Continue reading Milky oil in 82 Honda CB450SC NightHawk?

Installing Dirtbagz on my XR600R
This post won’t really pertain to the typical street bike repairs I report on, but hey – this is my site, I’ll write about my bikes regardless of convention! Hitachi carbs for 1982 Yamaha Seca
Hi: I received my seca which sat for 18 yr. The carb was dirty, so I cleaned it. I noticed that the 225 air jet was furthest from the screw that holds the cover over the air jets. This jet was frozen into the carb and I coulldn’t get it out. Then I didn’t know… Continue reading Hitachi carbs for 1982 Yamaha Seca
Help with mystery part 1976 CB500T
what is this and what is it supposed to do? Hi Iprete – That looks to me like a couple wires that have just been plugged to bypass a switch. The dark green/red wire is for the neutral switch on the CB500, so I’d wager a guess that the neutral switch stopped working and this… Continue reading Help with mystery part 1976 CB500T

Ok I found a thread from a member looking for an ignition switch for a CX 500 … it was suggested that the only way to find the part was off an old CX 500. Oh and by the way I’m hunting this problem down for a friend of mine with CX 500 … spent… Continue reading 1978 CX 500 – Ignition problem

1989 Honda CB-1 Carbs
Hey there I have torn apart my carbs, and I want to boil them in lemon juice, mostly because it sounds fun but they were heavily varnished. My question is the float needles have little rubber arrow heads on them, and they seem to be ok, but two of the four floats have no ‘spring’… Continue reading 1989 Honda CB-1 Carbs
2006 900cc triumph thruxton
I just recently laid my 2006 900cc triumph thruxton down. Being that the imported parts are so expensive I was wondering if there was a way to get cheaper universal parts so I can get back on the road? The parts I would need: Speedometer (both rpm and speed), the hand levers (both brake and… Continue reading 2006 900cc triumph thruxton
